I’m Courtney Prudhomme, LPC-S, offering individual therapy for adolescents and teens. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 “Hook’em Horns” and my graduate degree from Houston Christian University in 2016. My passion lies in assisting teens as they navigate mood issues, anger, relationship challenges, sexuality and identity concerns, and decision-making difficulties. In my leisure time, I love hanging out with my three dogs, playing the drums and piano, listening to music ( I love a good beat), writing poetry, and soaking up nature outdoors.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, my clients can anticipate a warm and engaging rapport-building experience. Alongside this, I conduct a comprehensive diagnostic assessment to gather essential information about their mental health and unique needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my strongest attributes as a provider is my deep understanding and connection with adolescents and teens. Drawing from my own life experiences, I can empathize with my clients, creating a safe and accepting environment where teens can freely express themselves without fear of judgment.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In my therapy practice, I take a dynamic and forward-focused approach that empowers adolescents and teens to explore their strengths, resilience, and goals. Together, we collaborate on practical strategies to navigate challenges and create positive change. By emphasizing solutions rather than dwelling on problems, I help young clients build confidence, enhance coping skills, and envision a brighter future. My approach is interactive, creative, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering a supportive environment where growth and self-discovery can flourish.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my therapy practice, I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adolescents and teens, offering a contemporary and engaging approach to mental health. Through CBT, I help young clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their challenges. By teaching practical skills and techniques, such as mindfulness and cognitive restructuring, I empower them to manage stress, anxiety, and other issues more effectively. My goal is to equip adolescents and teens with the tools they need to navigate life’s ups and downs with resilience and confidence, promoting long-lasting positive change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my therapy practice, I embrace a person-centered approach tailored specifically for adolescents and teens, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I prioritize empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, helping young clients feel understood and accepted. By focusing on their unique strengths, values, and goals, I empower them to discover their own solutions and make meaningful changes in their lives. My approach emphasizes collaboration and self-discovery, fostering personal growth and enhancing self-esteem.
