Thanks for visiting my page. It's not lost on me what an important decision it is to find a therapist who is a good fit. I will make this as painless as possible. If you are looking for a therapist who is approachable, open-minded, empathetic, AND can also challenge you gently, then I could be a good fit for therapy. Therapy is necessary work and should be a place where you can let it all out and expect profound change if you're open to digging deep.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session will include a meet-and-greet, disclosures, background questions, discussion of symptoms, successes, and goals for care.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients have told me that I am approachable, authentic, and present in session. I would argue that these three qualities contribute to a positive therapeutic relationship. Clients can align with their values when the person helping them is being equally authentic and present. Therapy results are not a straight line to success by any stretch, but we eventually get there.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

An ideal client attends sessions on time, is prepared to address the issues that brought them to Grow, and works on improving their quality of life both before and after sessions. Weekly sessions can only take you so far. You will need to do most of the work yourself using the tools from the sessions. I will be there to help guide you towards your goals and help unpack any stuck points or barriers getting in the way.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I take the principles and techniques in ACT to help unpack stuck points and areas of your life causing distress. By accepting and not controlling those upsetting thoughts and feelings, we can move towards a happier and healthier life rooted in our values.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I started using techniques in CBT-I when noticing that many clients were reporting poor, intermittent, interrupted, inconsistent sleep in combination with other complaints. You may not have a diagnosis of insomnia per se, but the techniques in CBT-I are wonderful tools for anyone with disruptive sleep patterns. Addressing sleep hygiene (and nutrition, btw) is an essential part of my practice. If you aren't sleeping consistently then you are not functioning at your best. Let's see how I can help.
