Self-pay rates: $225 for a thorough intake assessment, $200 for couple and family therapy, $175 for individual therapy sessions. I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in FL, who has also had training in a PhD in Couple and Family Therapy program. LMFTs are uniquely trained to view problems through a systemic lens. Humans do not exist in a bubble, which means we impact the systems we are a part of and those systems impact us. My life experiences are what lead me into the helping field. Typically, the therapist who can best help someone is a therapist who has shared experiences with their clients. As a result of the many traumas, including medical traumas, I have experienced, I have learned how to work through trauma, negotiate its current impacts, and rediscover a preferred path. I enjoy spending time outdoors, including water recreation and nature hikes and am also a lover of all things animal and nature. My goal with clients is to help them determine which path is the correct one for them and support them on their journey. While I am an expert in my field, my clients are the experts on their lives. Collaboratively, we will work as a team to improve quality of life and learn how to endure life’s stressors in a healthy way and achieve goals while ensuring my clients feel heard, supported and valued despite their struggles. Ensuring a safe space to discuss the most uncomfortable topics is of utmost importance. There is no topic off limits and no shame in discussing what may feel embarrassing because you will not find judgment from me in our work. Ever.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment in order to better understand you in the context of your life, family history and experiences. We will discuss motives for seeking therapy, and goals you would like to achieve. The more information I have up front, the better I am able to help you in a shorter period of time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I genuinely care about each and every client I work with. Due to my vast array of unusual life experiences, there are very few situations I cannot personally relate to. This creates space for me to truly empathize with my clients and understand what they are going through. I encourage and welcome feedback from my clients and want them to feel comfortable letting me know if they feel dissatisfied with any aspect of our therapy and refer out, if needed. My primary goal is to help my clients achieve theirs!

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

In my work, I help clients who have experienced various forms of trauma, including often over-looked medical trauma, sexual trauma, relational trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury/post-concussive syndrome, and grief and loss. I am not only a treating clinician, but have personally experienced these traumas, myself, which allows me the ability to truly understand what my clients are experiencing in their lives both internally and externally.

Attachment-based

We are often unable to identify attachment traumas throughout childhood that impact how we navigate adult relationships. My work assists clients in learning about attachment theory, attachment traumas, and attachment style assessments as needed. Therefore it is vital that I work with clients from a compassionate and patient stance. Clients often report feeling judged by their therapists and this causes ineffective therapy. Compassion, empathy and psychoeducation are critical in my work.

Experiential Therapy

Talk therapy is extremely useful for most clients, but adding experiential components incorporates an additional layer in which clients will engage in agreed upon activities, including role play, nature therapy, and mindfulness techniques to incorporate into their lives outside of the therapy room.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Every culture has its own unique rules and history, which often dictates how we think, feel and what we believe. Understanding client complaints in the context of their respective culture is imperative to the therapeutic process.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

This treatment method is used, primarily, in the context of couple’s work. EFT allows couples to explore one another’s experiences in a safe space and encourages the use of touch and promotes deeper connection.
