New clients continue care with this provider

Welcome! My name is Tricia Baker, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing telehealth services throughout California. Have you been struggling with thoughts and emotions that feel like a flood of negativity? Anxiety and depression can create a discouraging feeling of powerlessness. Throughout my career, I have assisted clients in the management of anxious thoughts, challenging negative beliefs that are holding them back, building confidence, and addressing difficulties in maintaining fulfilling relationships. Through our work together, my main goal is to help you gain relief from symptoms and to experience greater life satisfaction. My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has the potential to grow and change and is deserving of acceptance.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Through observations of your emotional and behavioral patterns, I strive to provide insight that will assist you in breaking cycles that may no longer be serving you. I will assist you in increasing self-awareness by helping you to uncover how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect your life experiences. Through our work together, I can also assist you in exploring how current reactions are impacted by past experiences and to reduce the harmful impact of shame.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my greatest strength as a therapist is creating a trusting, non-judgmental, safe space in which my clients feel heard and empowered. Together, we will work towards developing healthier habits, recognizing the strengths you already possess, and utilizing new strategies and skills. I would be honored to be a collaborative partner in your journey to creating meaningful change in your life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I approach goal setting by empowering you to identify outcomes that you would like to achieve and assisting you in breaking down your self-identified areas of focus into manageable steps. Together, we will work collaboratively to develop healthier habits, track your progress, recognize your growth, and celebrate milestones.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

As a Level 1 Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist, I can help you to re-establish a sense of safety, identify triggers, and reduce traumatic stress symptoms.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques to assist clients in identifying, acknowledging and accepting the full range of emotions that may surface in response to life's stressors. Through learning to accept our feelings as opposed to denying or struggling with them, we can learn to be mindful in the present moment and to live life in accordance with our own self-identified values.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I employ CBT techniques to assist clients in challenging and replacing thoughts that may be keeping them in a negative feedback loop. By helping clients to identify thinking patterns that are not serving them, they can begin to experience greater self acceptance and make positive behavioral changes.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My overall goal as a therapist is to first and foremost create a safe, validating and nonjudgmental space for self-exploration. Through use of Person-Centered techniques, I strive to assist clients in increasing self-awareness and uncovering how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors affect their life experiences.
