LPC, 8 years of experience
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over eight years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults through life’s challenges. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own experiences in counseling, where I discovered the power of having a safe, nonjudgmental space to heal and grow. That experience shaped my belief that therapy is not just about addressing problems, but about uncovering strengths, building resilience, and learning how to live with greater peace and purpose. I specialize in working with individuals managing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relationship struggles. My therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate mindfulness techniques to help clients slow down, become more aware of their emotions, and respond in healthier ways. My role is not to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you in your journey, offering tools, insight, and encouragement. Clients who work with me often notice they gain greater clarity, stronger coping strategies, and more confidence in navigating relationships, boundaries, and personal goals. My ultimate aim is to create a safe space where you feel truly heard, validated, and empowered to make lasting changes in your life.
Your first session with me is a conversation, not a test. We begin by exploring what brings you to therapy, your hopes for the process, and any specific goals you may have. I will ask questions to get a sense of your background, current challenges, and strengths, but there is no pressure to share everything at once. You are in control of the pace. This session is also your chance to get to know me and my style. I encourage you to ask questions, share concerns, and let me know what feels supportive to you. My goal in the first session is to help you feel comfortable, respected, and understood. Many clients leave feeling a sense of relief — knowing they don’t have to carry everything alone and that they’ve taken the first step toward meaningful change. From the start, I work to create a warm, collaborative atmosphere where you can be open about your experiences without fear of judgment. You will begin to see that therapy is not just about talking but also about learning practical tools you can begin using right away to reduce stress, improve communication, and create healthier patterns in your daily life.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I approach therapy with warmth and empathy, but also with a practical focus on helping clients discover tools that make a real difference in their day-to-day lives. I combine evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness techniques, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of the individual. Another strength I bring is my ability to connect with clients on a human level. I know that therapy can feel intimidating at first, so I make it a priority to build trust and rapport by being authentic, approachable, and compassionate. Clients often share that they feel comfortable opening up to me about challenges they have not been able to share elsewhere. This allows us to work deeply on the root causes of stress, anxiety, or depression rather than just the surface-level symptoms. In addition, my experience working with diverse populations — including individuals navigating life transitions, managing stress, or struggling with boundary-setting — has equipped me with the skills to meet clients where they are. I focus on empowering clients to recognize their strengths, shift unhelpful patterns, and build confidence in their ability to handle life’s challenges. What makes my work unique is the balance I offer between support and gentle challenge. I believe growth happens when you feel encouraged but also guided to see new perspectives. Clients who work with me leave sessions not only feeling understood but also with practical steps they can take to move forward. My greatest reward as a therapist is witnessing clients rediscover their sense of peace, purpose, and strength.
The clients I serve best are those who are motivated to grow but may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. Many of my clients are professionals balancing demanding careers and personal lives, parents adjusting to the challenges of raising children, or individuals experiencing difficult transitions such as a move, loss, or relationship change. Some struggle with anxiety that shows up as overthinking, restlessness, or difficulty making decisions. Others come to therapy because of depression, burnout, or feeling disconnected from themselves. I also work with clients who find it hard to set boundaries, who often put others first, or who feel guilty when prioritizing their own needs. What my ideal clients have in common is a desire for something different — whether that is peace of mind, healthier coping skills, or stronger relationships. They are ready to explore their thoughts and emotions, even if it feels uncomfortable at times, and they value having a therapist who listens without judgment but also gently challenges them to grow. If you are looking for a supportive space to unpack what weighs on you, gain new perspectives, and learn strategies that actually fit your life, then I may be the right fit for you.

I have been seeing Terri since September of 2023 and I could not be more thankful that I found her. This was my first attempt at seeking emotional and mental health services and I'm so glad that I was able to find someone who was able to guide me through the process and who was a good fit for me right of the bat!
With eight years of experience in mental health, I've utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) extensively to help clients address various emotional and psychological challenges. My background includes working with both adults and children, allowing me to adapt CBT techniques to suit different age groups and individual needs.
I've effectively utilized Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to help clients navigate various challenges. SFT's strength-based approach aligns well with my therapeutic style, focusing on clients' strengths and resources to foster positive change. I've applied SFT techniques across different demographics, including both adults and children, tailoring the approach to meet individual needs and circumstances.
