I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California with 8 years of clinical work experience. My expertise is to assist older adults with chronic health issues as well as immigrants in coping with anxiety, depression, stress, and interpersonal issues. I also have extensive experience in serving clients with physical disabilities, especially those with developmental disabilities and visual impairments. I use different modalities to help you achieve your goals, including mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and Thought Field Therapy (tapping).
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions. We will then review the intake information you provided before the session and discuss specific challenges you are experiencing.
I am excellent at making people who have English as a second language and may feel intimidated in working with a native speaker feel comfortable and feel listened. With over 20 years of experience serving marginalized people as a public servant, I have extensive knowledge of how to navigate government systems and resources/benefits aimed at improving quality of life.
I love helping people who are immigrants and/or have English as a second language. As an immigrant myself, I truly understand your experiences of going through cultural assimilation, frustration with the language barrier, overt/covert discrimination, and interpersonal issues stemming from cultural differences.

Mindfulness practice is incorporated into everything I do in working with my clients. To effectively deal with many life difficulties, it is essential to have emotional awareness and regulation and cognitive flexibility. By assisting my clients in learning mindfulness, I help them become less reactive to external stresses or unpleasant internal phenomena.
CBT is an evidence-based practice proven to be effective in managing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Depending on your issues, I use a combination of CBT, DBT, and mindfulness practice to define problems and goals and provide guidance for clients to practice their skills and gain mastery over their symptoms.
