Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #119418) based in California with over 8 years of experience. I am dedicated to helping individuals (teens and adults) and couples navigate their mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being. I work with a diverse range of clients, including those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Through evidence-based approaches, I provide tailored support to meet each client's unique needs. My goal is to empower clients to develop healthier coping strategies, improve their emotional connections, and foster resilience, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and balanced life. I am currently accepting individual clients through insurance, while couples are welcome on a private pay basis. For any inquiries, please feel free to message me or call for a complimentary 15-minute consultation at (916) 245-2258. I look forward to hearing from you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can feel safe and comfortable sharing their concerns. We will begin with an initial assessment, where I will ask questions to understand their current challenges, personal history, and goals for therapy. This session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions about the therapy process and discuss any concerns they might have. Together, we will start to develop a collaborative treatment plan tailored to their unique needs. My goal for the first session is to build a strong therapeutic alliance and set the foundation for a supportive and effective therapy experience.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to empathize deeply with my clients and create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment. I strive to build strong therapeutic alliances based on trust, respect, and collaboration. My background in evidence-based practices allows me to tailor treatment plans to meet each client's unique needs effectively. Additionally, I am skilled at fostering insight and self-awareness in my clients, empowering them to make positive changes in their lives. Overall, my dedication to ongoing professional development and my genuine commitment to my clients' well-being are what I consider to be my greatest strengths as a provider.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a highly effective evidence-based approach used to treat anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I use this modality by helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier thinking, and implement practical coping strategies. This involves setting clear goals, providing psychoeducation, conducting behavioral experiments, and assigning homework to reinforce skills learned in sessions.

EMDR

In my experience with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I have found it to be highly effective in helping individuals process and heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. I use EMDR in my practice by following a structured eight-phase protocol, which includes taking a thorough client history, preparing the client for the process, identifying target memories, and using bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping) to facilitate reprocessing of these memories. This method helps clients reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories, leading to healthier coping mechanisms and improved overall emotional well-being.
