Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina with over 15 years of experience working as a Therapist and Care Manager. My experience includes working with adults, adolescents, children/families, and group work. I employ evidence-based treatments for mood disorders, anxiety, grief & loss. Specifically, my counseling approach is using cognitive-behavioral techniques and self-guided help. I will individualize our dialog and treatment plan to address your specific needs. The counseling relationship is a professional relationship based on trust, security, and mutual respect. I believe that everyone I engage with should be able to have a better, more harmonious well-being every day and I look forward to helping you achieve that goal.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together will start with brief introductions, then delve into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through and follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is warm and connected. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

The therapist will use a treatment approach focused on accepting “negative” emotions and experiences so the patient can move forward with healing. The therapist will encourage mindfulness to overcome the negative attitudes, thoughts, and feelings that result from difficulties that come with life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The therapist will utilize an approach that allows the client to address their goals by considering the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that support desired behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

The intervention promotes healing by providing skills to manage difficult emotions. The therapist will incorporate mindfulness, self-awareness, emotion regulation, and interpersonal communication.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

The intervention promotes the practice of being present and aware of their thoughts, feelings, and experiences from moment to moment. The therapist will assist the client to increase their self-awareness.

Motivational Interviewing

The treatment modality helps the client to make decisions for themselves with conviction, based on motivation and positivity. The therapist will encourage the client to review if their quality of life is negatively impacted by indecisiveness and uncertainty.
