I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). My responsibilities include providing effective evidenced based services and keep the best interest of the client as a forefront in the therapeutic relationship. Building rapport is essential to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship with a client. I believe in working at the client's pace to meet the client's goals in therapy. I have nine years of experience as an LPC and 21 years of experience in the mental health field.
The first session is to establish rapport. Within this first session, the client will be asked to share the purpose of seeking counseling and learn about the client's needs. The limits of confidentiality and mandated reporting procedures will be discussed. When establishing rapport, the questions from the intake and an exploration of the assessment questions will be included as part of the first session.
As a therapist, my strengths include applying my knowledge and experience, keeping informed on evidenced based practices and keeping the client's best interest in mind.
In my experience, the best position to serve is based on establishing rapport and trust with the client. As a therapist, the client's best interest is priority. My experience as an LPC has been with working with children and families and adults. The evidence-based modalities are based on the client's individual needs.
The modalities are based on the client's needs. The modalities implemented are evidenced based.
