Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, practicing in Florida. I graduated from The University of Florida and Nova SouthEastern University. In a variety of settings, I have helped clients to see where change is possible and how they can create a toolbox for the future. I enjoy working with people to find their own healthy solution. Working most of my life in healthcare, it has been my honor to offer emotional support to others as they deal with challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be about introducing ourselves to one another and easing into the reasons you reached out for help. The process of therapy begins with making sure we are a good fit. Needs and expectations are an integral part of the first session. Building rapport and comfort, finding out the best methods for communication and availability of the therapist as well as the financial responsibility occur in the first session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Listening to you and understanding your situation is the foundation of our working together. I am able to listen patiently and give people the space to explore themselves. Accepting strengths and weaknesses with the hope of creating new strengths as needed to promote a better life is the joy in the therapy process.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My experiences have shown me that one must be open-minded enough to what may or not work for someone seeking help. Generally, we are a function of our thoughts, feelings and actions. Therefore, the Cognitive-Behavioral method is the basis of human nature and applying it as the situation necessitates is helpful. Other methods, such as, Humanistic, Reality Theory, Psychanalytic, etc. all have a place in the realm of getting to know and understand ourselves and others. Ruling out medical conditions is also very important since certain conditions can mimic, trigger or exacerbate mental health issues. The Eclectic philosophy is my go-to because we must be able to think outside of any given box.
