Your first visit is an important step in getting to know you and understanding how I can best support your mental health goals. This initial appointment usually lasts about 60–90 minutes. During our time together, I will: Listen to your story — We’ll talk about what brings you in, your current concerns, and how these challenges affect your daily life. Review your history — I’ll ask about your medical, mental health, and family history, as well as any past treatments or medications you’ve tried. Explore your goals — We’ll discuss what you hope to achieve through treatment and any questions or concerns you may have. Develop a plan together, and If appropriate, I may recommend lab work, discuss medication options, and talk through other supportive strategies such as therapy, lifestyle changes, or community resources. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed choices about your care. I encourage you to share openly and ask questions. This is truley a safe space for you! Before you leave, we’ll review next steps, schedule any follow-up visits, and make sure you feel comfortable with your treatment plan.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
In my practice, I believe that healing happens best when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. I take the time to build a trusting relationship with each client, so you never feel rushed or judged. My approach is collaborative and holistic — I don’t just look at symptoms, but at you as a whole person, including your mind, body, relationships, and environment. I use evidence-based medication management when appropriate, combined with supportive psychotherapy, lifestyle strategies, and education to help you make informed choices about your care. I’m known for my warm, down to earth style and my dedication to providing a safe space where you can show up exactly as you are. My goal is to help you feel more hopeful, empowered, and equipped to navigate life’s challenges, so you can move forward with greater balance and well-being.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my ideal client is an adult who is ready to take an active role in their mental health journey. They may be experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, or difficulties navigating life transitions. They are open to a holistic, collaborative approach that includes evidence-based medication management and supportive therapy when appropriate. My ideal client values a safe, non-judgmental space to share their struggles and goals. They are interested in developing insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and are willing to explore changes that support their well-being. They may feel overwhelmed by stress, grief, or past trauma, yet they have a desire to heal and grow at a pace that feels manageable.
Motivational Interviewing
I practice motivational interviewing as a collaborative, goal-oriented communication style designed to evoke each clients' own motivations for change, founded on empathy and respect.
