Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana. I am also licensed to serve those in Kansas and Ohio. I received my Masters from Indiana University and have been working with clients of various backgrounds for over 15 years in various roles. I utilize a variety of approaches to help address personal needs such as CBT, DBT, Art based interventions, solution focused , and various other systems theories.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, I allow clients to discuss their presenting problem that brought them to seek support. The first session can be guided by myself if there a large amount of anxiety or hesitation. It can also be a free flowing session if the client is comfortable. During the session we will cover some logistic information, education, and also explore values and desires from the therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I often hear clients having thoughts of therapy being a space where it is about advice and a short term solution to singular problem. During the process, I provide a lot of education about how our brains and bodies work in the response to stress and our experiences. Therapy is not about advice but a space to share and express true feelings and experiences so you can develop ways to positively move through future experiences. During the therapy process, I will provide you with new strategies, thoughts, challenges that you can choose if and how you practice them. The space that I provide for therapy is for you to direct.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT frequently to help identify ways to help clients guide themselves through changing their identified challenging behavior or thought. It is a an evidence based practice that also allows you to integrate attachment theories and mindfulness into its practice. These are also practices that I often use in my practice along with others.
