I am social worker and substance use counselor that partners with clients to face life challenges. With extra support people can improve relationships, work/school, parenting, mood and recovery (alcohol/drugs). So glad you made it here, being open extra support is a huge step, you don't have to go through hard things alone. If you struggle with relationships, work/school, mood, parenting alcohol/drug use we can come up with a plan to create balance which can lead to greater happiness in life. I want to make sure therapy is individualized to fit your needs. You have strengths and skills that we can build to make things easier and less overwhelming. Let's find the tools you need so that you're more empowered the rest of your life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session we'll have a chance to connect and talk through the most pressing concerns that are coming up; most people feel a sense of relief and support after that first session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I'm pretty laid back, like to laugh, listen well and respect all cultures; we'll create realistic goals together so progress is noticeable, this can improve mood and overall health.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have been a social worker for almost 20 years and feel it is my true calling. I have worked in many different settings in both the community and hospital with people of all ages and backgrounds. Sometimes, one of the most important components of treatment is the connection to a counselor; this relationship provides extra support, which allows people to accomplish goals. Although this work can be challenging at times, seeing people change and feel better makes it all worth it.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Helps to manage thoughts so emotions and feelings can be more regulated.
