My treatment methods

Psychoeducation

My experience using this treatment method has led to tremendous success in mental illness recovery. When patients and their families have a better understanding of the nature of the illness, its etiology, progression, consequences, prognosis, treatment, and alternative, they are more likely to comply with treatment.

Motivational Interviewing

I have found the use of MI to be practical and it helps the patient resolve their mixed feelings and lack of confidence and assists them find the internal motivation they need to adopt changes, adhere to treatment, or alternative to treatment.

Supportive

I have been able to gain patient confidence and trust through active listening, emotional support, validation and being empathetic. These are all elements of Supportive counseling and they helps to reducing client's distress without actually addressing the psychological and behavioral causes of the distress.
