Everyone calls me Abi, I am PHMNP with over 16 years of experience in mental health and received my Doctorate in Nursing from Wilkes University. All humans are the same but yet differ due to their past and perspective to life thus there is something we all need help with. Don't look backwards, live for today and hope for tomorrow.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First session is all about you, would like to hear about the past but we must talk a bit about the present and have plans for the future. We cannot make changes to the past; we can make changes to today and make changes for tomorrow. Please come prepared, all medication, diagnosis, and all other providers. We would conclude with a treatment plan during our first session and continue to build on this plan in subsequent sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Listening, empathy, hopefulness, respect, boundaries and one who believes in others. I often tell my patients that they encourage me and give me strength and I learn a lot from them while teaching and sharing with them. As a provider, it is comforting to share that I am a parent, wife, daughter, sister, friend, colleague and human. Human is my last attribute so understanding life and life stressors is real to me and to us all.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Thoughts matters a lot thus redefining our perspective helps with acceptance and expectation.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotions are important but should not be our guiding light, yet we must not suppress emotions.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

One of the fundamental relationships in life, child-parenting and the older the child, the more complete this relationship can become. It is very important to know each stage of parenting in order to foster a healthy relationship and stability at home.

Christian Counseling

Fundamental principle of Christ, respect, love, obey, show passion, listen, support, cherish, hope, pray and encourage others is my guiding template as i relate with others. Bias, prejudice limits any provider and Christ came for all and was for all. I would speak the truth and share science yet remain aware that we differ, and no one is above anyone. Culture is key for all; our differences should add colors and not separate us. Each person has their own story and so we have to accommodate others and their belief and value system because it defines who they are. I am always willing to learn and share with others.
