Hello! I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I am a highly trained and qualified healthcare professional specializing in mental health care. I have completed advanced education and clinical training that enables me to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health conditions independently. My expertise encompasses various therapeutic modalities, including medication management, psychotherapy, and holistic approaches to care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment in which they can share their concerns and goals. Clients can also expect to discuss their medical history, previous medication trials, expectations and goals for their mental healthcare, and any questions or concerns. Overall, the first session is a chance for the client and provider to get to know each other, establish rapport, and collaboratively develop a plan for future follow-up appointments.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a mental health provider, my greatest strengths lie in forming genuine connections with clients while being dedicated to their well-being. I am empathetic and can understand clients' experiences, fostering trust and rapport. My commitment to ongoing learning and staying informed about the latest advancements in mental health allows me to provide evidence-based and personalized treatment. I strive to listen without judgment and to your capacity to empower them to make positive changes in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a powerful tool to help individuals challenge negative thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and cultivate healthier behaviors. Through structured sessions and collaborative goal-setting, I guide clients in recognizing and modifying unhelpful beliefs that contribute to distress. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, CBT empowers individuals to proactively manage their mental health and achieve lasting positive change.

Motivational Interviewing

I employ Motivational Interviewing as a person-centered approach to support individuals in exploring and resolving ambivalence toward change. By fostering a non-judgmental and empathetic environment, I aim to evoke intrinsic motivation and empower clients to identify their own goals and pathways to change. Through reflective listening, open-ended questions, and affirmations, I collaborate with clients to enhance their readiness for positive behavior change. Motivational Interviewing serves as a catalyst for self-discovery and empowers individuals to make meaningful and sustainable improvements in their lives.

Psychoeducation

I integrate psychoeducation into my practice to empower individuals with knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. By providing accurate and accessible information in a supportive and non-judgmental manner, I help clients gain insight into their experiences and develop practical skills for managing their symptoms. Through psychoeducation, individuals can make informed decisions about their care, enhance their self-efficacy, and foster a sense of empowerment in their journey toward improved mental well-being.
