About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in both CA and NC with several years of experience in the medical and mental health space. I have lived experience with disability, I am a cancer survivor, and I am an active duty military spouse! I help clients learn to move through challenging life events while building the tools to create resilience, change, and connection. I believe in each person's innate ability to move towards wellness and I am deeply passionate about helping clients recognize and build their internal resources. As a social worker, I recognize the systems in my clients' lives that impact their health including the socio-political landscape at large. I am a believer that therapy should be most importantly a safe place for my clients and will work with you on making sure our rapport and sense of trust is as the forefront of our work together. I value the realness of showing up as myself in session and hope that you will do the same! When I am not wearing my therapist hat you can find me in the kitchen, cuddling with my two dogs, or trying out a new adventure with my family.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is all about building safety and getting to know you—not just your symptoms or struggles, but your story. I take a comprehensive, whole-person approach that gives us space to explore what’s been going on in your world—emotionally, physically, relationally, and historically. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your goals for therapy, and any experiences (past or current) that feel important to name. I’ll ask about your support system, your nervous system, and how things like identity, trauma, illness, or caregiving may be shaping what you’re carrying today. It’s not a rushed checklist—it’s a collaborative process, where we start laying the groundwork for healing at a pace that honors your comfort and your boundaries. Most importantly? You don’t have to have the “right” words or know exactly what you need. You just have to show up. I’ll guide us from there.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a mix of clinical expertise and lived experience to the table—which means I don’t just understand what you’re going through, I’ve sat in the hard stuff too. Clients often say they feel safe, seen, and like they don’t have to perform here. I’m especially good at helping people who know why they’re stuck but don’t know how to change it—those deep thinkers and feelers who are ready to move from insight to integration. I deeply value transparency and you will see that show up in our work, as I will check in with you from time to time to get your feedback if you feel as though therapy is helpful or if you need something different. I will be open to your feedback, always. I show up as a real person—warm, direct, and deeply present—so you can, too.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Helping ambitious, big-hearted humans navigate the emotional toll of chronic illness, trauma, and caregiving—without losing themselves in the process. You’re used to holding it all together. Maybe you’re the strong one. The fixer. The feeler. The one who’s done the reading, listened to the podcasts, maybe even been to therapy before. You know the “why” behind your patterns… but the how still feels frustratingly out of reach. Or maybe you’re just starting to realize how much you’ve been carrying—and wondering if it’s finally time to stop doing it alone. I work with women, LGBTQIA+ folks, and adult children of chaos navigating the layered impact of illness, trauma, burnout, cancer, childhood emotional neglect, growing up with addiction, and the grief and complexity of military life and relationships. Whether you're years into your healing or just beginning, you're welcome here—exactly as you are. My clients often tell me, “I can explain why I do what I do—I just don’t know how to stop.” That’s where I come in. Together, we’ll shift from insight to integration—from understanding your story to living it differently. I use a blend of somatic and evidence-based therapies like EMDR, ACT, and I-CBT to help you reconnect with your body, your boundaries, and your actual needs. You don’t need to perform healing or “have it all together” to start. You just need a space where all your parts can safely show up. This is that space.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT in session to helps clients navigate how their behaviors, beliefs, and connection with their body is impacting their overall mental health. This type of treatment I've found to very successful for folks with chronic pain, disability, anxiety, and trauma.

Somatic

I use this type of treatment to help clients learn about wisdom of their bodies. Many of my clients struggle with upsetting physical reactions to triggers, feel disconnected from their bodies, and may even struggle with an overall feeling of not being safe. Somatic therapy is a wonderful tool to tune into the way your body is constantly moving you towards health, grow, and healing.

EMDR

I utilize prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing therapy, or EMDR to help clients process difficult traumatic experiences. These can range from sexual trauma, childhood trauma, domestic violence, medical trauma, emotional neglect, and CPTSD.

I have been working through a break up with Lauren for the last few months and have felt understood and cared for through the process. She has taught me a lot of skills to use to take care of the uncomfortable feelings in my body when I struggle to process emotions and it has been very helpful and I apply it in my every day life. I am so glad to have someone I feel seen by 🥰

I feel like she really listened to me and was forming a plan for the work that we could do together as it was happening, and already feel better about my prospective future knowing I will have someone capable and available to support me, and also someone that knows how to do that!
