Hi there! I'm Todd. Do you feel stuck in life? Frozen with indecision? Crushed by emotions you'd rather not have? I can help with that. I may be a licensed expert in multiple matters of mental health, but I believe that there is no greater expert about you than you. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort. We will identify concerns that you have, figure out what hasn't worked in the past and what has, and then add additional tools to the mix to create the best possible outcome. We will work with the mind, body, and spirit and strive to restore balance to all.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be where we identify both the problems and the goals. Then the work begins. Typically, the first several sessions are held weekly as we process what brings you in for therapy. The intensity of those concerns WILL lessen as the therapeutic process goes on. You will gain insight, skills, and confidence to help resolve your concerns. The ultimate goal of therapy is for it to end and for you to be in a better place. As the process continues, we will meet less frequently, and you will have the results that you desire. There is no definitive timeline for therapy and some issues may take longer to resolve than others, and other issues may come to light. WE get to make those calls as we go along.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Almost every therapist uses an "eclectic" approach. I am no different. My approach methodology has four general sources. One, my education. Theories and techniques learned in school, research, and continuing education are here. CBT is a primary technique. Polyvagal techniques and Positive Psychology are also used. Two, my professional experience. The clients I have worked with on ambulances, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, in their homes, and in private practice have graced me with a wealth of knowledge. Three, my personal experiences. Life is full of joyous and painful experiences and it has shared quite a few of both with me. Nothing brings an empathic understanding better than experience Four, ANYTHING ELSE that works for you. Books, movies, and arts are sources for us.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is my ability to pair solutions with problems. I personally love to brainstorm issues and to think outside the box as often as I can. I take this trait and use it to drive our therapeutic process. Life changes and trauma respond very well to finding new ways to respond to them. I belive in providing these new tools along with also serving as your accountability partner and you move into change and new ways of resolving your concerns.
