Hi, I'm Sarah. Do you ever feel like emotions are big scary monsters hiding in your closet, just waiting to come out and ruin your day? Do you feel like the rest of the world is seamlessly handling their days while you are running on empty to do the bare minimum? Is it challenging to treat yourself with compassion? I help young adults manage their anxiety and depression to create a life where they are thriving rather than just surviving. Together, we can learn what your triggers and symptoms are and how to manage them in a way that makes you feel back in control. Through using a holistic approach, we will address the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. I also utilize creative outlets to help you think outside the box and view your situation from a different perspective. Whether you are dealing with the stress of school, relationship issues, cycles of anxiety and depression, or trauma, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can be a scary first step, but it is also a brave one. You deserve a safe space to heal, grow, and learn practical self-care to promote long term happiness. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions then dive into what challenges you have been experiencing that have brought you to seek therapy. This will help guide our work together in follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is my ability to make therapy feel natural rather than a series of questions and answers. I have been providing therapy services since 2018 and have learned the importance of making them feel that they are my main focus. I pride myself on being intuitive to my client's feelings and receptive to their body language and other nonverbal cues in order to know when I am able to push them further vs meeting them where they are at.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have was trained in TF-CBT in January 2022 and utilize this model to help my clients process their trauma and regain a sense of control.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been utilizing DBT skills in the service I provide since 2018. I was informally trained while working at a PHP/IOP setting that specialized in eating disorders. I use DBT framework to help my clients understand their intense emotions and accept their feelings, learn to manage them, and make positive life changes.

Interpersonal

I utilize interpersonal therapy techniques to help my clients identify their triggers and symptoms with the goal of improving their current problems and relationships.

Strength-Based

As a social worker, one of my core beliefs for treatment is to build on my clients' inner strengths, rather than focusing on "fixing" their weaknesses. I help my clients recognize their own self-determination so they can have a more positive outlook.
