At balanced life behavioral health and counseling services our patients' satisfaction is our number one priority. Dr. Ekwe and his team do this by utilizing an evidence-based model in tailoring an individualized treatment plan that fits each patient. Dr. Ekwe provides comprehensive care for his patients and treats them with respect, dignity, and compassion. Dr. Ekwe has over 19 years of experience in delivering mental/psychiatry services. After many years of working in behavioral health, I decided to set up my independent practice. I did this with one goal in mind: To be able to create an environment, where people will be comfortable sharing their feelings, experiences and mental health problems. And at the same time, the provider conducting the Psychiatry assessment not feeling rushed. What makes us unique is our Keen listening ability and also the ability to understand all member's stories with a non-judgemental approach. The services we provide are meant to enhance and improve the quality of life of those we serve. Here at BLBHCS, our mission is to restore and promote sound minds through counseling, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy thus enhancing individual optimum functioning

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with start brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize all sorts of treatment modalities and tools in treating my clients. I utilize PHQ9. GAD 7, Mood D/O questionnaires, Clock drawing, AIMS rating, Mini-cog, Suicide behavioral questionnaire, Short Michigan Alcohol screening, and substance history and assessment tool.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Communication which encompasses listening is one of my biggest strengths. Also, my other big strength has to do with assessment. I like to ask questions and that helps me in delivering an excellent care to my clients.
