About me

I’m Justin Trout, a licensed therapist who specializes in helping people struggling with OCD, anxiety, and trauma. I work with children, teens, and adults to uncover the patterns that keep them stuck and guide them toward healthier ways of thinking and living. My goal is to give clients the tools and confidence to face fear, embrace uncertainty, and reclaim a life filled with freedom and hope.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your struggles, your goals, and what you hope to change, while I also explain how I use approaches like CBT and ERP to help. You can expect a safe, supportive space where you’ll feel heard, and together we’ll start building a plan tailored to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are providing a balance of compassion and practical tools. I specialize in evidence-based methods like CBT and ERP, which give clients clear strategies to face fears, break free from compulsions, and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. What stands out most is my ability to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space while also guiding clients toward real, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you find yourself stuck in cycles of worry, fear, or compulsions that feel impossible to break, I want you to know you’re not alone. I work best with clients who are tired of anxiety and OCD controlling their lives, but who are also ready to try something different, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Many of the people I serve struggle with “what if” thoughts, perfectionism, or fear of making the wrong choice—and they want practical tools, not just talk, to make real change. My role is to walk with you through that fear, help you face the uncertainty, and give you proven strategies to find freedom. If your goal is to live more fully, worry less, and take your life back from anxiety, I’m here to help.

My treatment methods

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients gradually face the situations and thoughts that trigger their anxiety or OCD. Instead of relying on compulsions or avoidance, I guide them to sit with discomfort and learn that they can handle uncertainty without giving in to fear. Over time, ERP builds confidence, reduces anxiety, and helps clients reclaim their lives from OCD.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

I use Prolonged Exposure (PE) to help clients work through traumatic memories in a safe, supportive way. By gradually and repeatedly revisiting these memories or facing avoided situations, clients reduce the power of fear and anxiety over time. This approach helps them process trauma, regain a sense of control, and move forward with greater resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and build healthier ways of thinking. In practice, I guide people to face fears, change behaviors that keep them stuck, and take small steps toward lasting change. Over time, I’ve seen CBT empower clients with the tools and confidence to regain control of their lives.
