Hi! I am Karen and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have 11 years of experience in the field working with adults, babies, and adolescents. I have specialized in treating trauma, breaking negative behavior patterns (bad habits), and helping people gain joy and build better relationships with those they care about. I have extensive experience in attachment therapy (CPP), trauma therapy (EMDR), family therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. My focus is to help you achieve the life you want, and feel peace and joy in your daily life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships and what brought them to therapy. Through this understanding we create goals and coping skills to create lasting change. We explore their desires for the future and focus on attaining the life that is meaningful to them in the present. During our first session you can expect to understand the process of therapy, develop goals that are meaningful to you, and leave with one or two tips on how to begin working on what brought you to therapy in the first place.

My clients describe me as warm, caring, open, supportive, understanding, and helpful. I am not afraid of calling things out as they are, and I pride myself in being an open and honest therapist that will encourage you to be the best version of yourself.

EMDR

My goal of treating you with EMDR's is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. Our work focuses on helping you learn coping, soothing techniques, and be able to process trauma so that it stops getting in the way of you living life to the fullest.

Attachment-based

I use attachment based treatment as a way to help you understand your own attachment patterns. When you are able to understand how to relate to others, you are able to make changes so that you can nourish your relationships the way that you want.

Psychodynamic

The goals of psychodynamic therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior. Our work together will help you make sense of the past and let it go so that you can focus on moving forward and live the life you want.
