LCSW-C, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a social worker, mother, partner and woman that sees herself as a natural helper and am inspired to help the most vulnerable and those that need someone to listen and walk next to them on their mental health journey. My path to therapy has been shaped by working at the intersection of public health, trauma-informed care, and mental wellness. I've seen how life stressors, chronic illness, and emotional pain impact the whole person. These experiences inspired me to pursue clinical social work with a strength-based, collaborative approach.
Our first session with me is a welcoming space where we begin building trust and respect. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, explore what you're hoping to gain, and identify your strengths, values, and challenges. I'll ask questions to understand your well-being, but there's no pressure. You'll leave feeling heard and supported.
My approach builds on your strengths while gently challenging thoughts and behaviors that hold you back. Together, we'll shift negative thinking patterns, cultivate healthier habits, and reconnect you with purpose and joy. We'll also focus on self-care, mindfulness, and overall wellness. Setting and reaching goals is collaborative and empowering. I help you identify what truly matters and we break those goals into manageable, realistic steps. We regularly revisit and adjust them as life evolves. Therapy is a partnership, and when we both show up with intention and effort, real change becomes possible.
I work with people living with anxiety, depression, life stress, chronic illness, or physical health conditions that impact mental well-being. Together, we'll identify and shift harmful thought patterns, develop supportive behaviors, and create realistic goals. Therapy becomes a space to heal, grow, and rediscover purpose and joy.
I use techniques like asking open-ended questions, reflecting on the client's statements, and summarizing thoughts to build self-efficacy and develop a discrepancy between their current behavior and desired future in order to create a plan of action
I use mindfulness, acceptance, and action based on values to help people live a more meaningful life that allows for thoughtful flexibility, and accepting difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. We will create an action plan that allows for a journey to wellness and health
SFbT is a goal-oriented, short-term talk therapy that focuses on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. We will identify clients' strengths and resources to achieve personal goals and improve wellness. We will envision the ideal outcomes for the future and work together on an action plan to meet those goals.
We will work together to identify and leverage strengths, skills, and resources to promote personal growth and resilience, rather than solely focusing on weaknesses. Based on the idea that people are resilient and strong, we will build on those strengths to overcome challenges, solve problems, and improve self-esteem and sense of control.
