Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years experience in working in the mental health field. Life is a journey, and as with all journeys there are ups and downs. I am here to help you manage the journey of life. When you feel stuck, or you cannot seem to get back up, I am here to help you get back up and on you way again. I believe there is hope in every situation and desire to help you find it.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other better. I want to hear your story - what brings you to therapy, have you been to therapy in the past, what are you expectations, etc. I want to know as much about you as I can. Sometimes just telling the story of your life, or what is bothering you can be helpful. Once I get a good grasp of your story, we will work together to develop goals and plans for future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength is actively listening with empathy, compassion and without judgment. I understand how difficult it can be to build trust and rapport and strive to create a safe space to assist you in empowering yourself to recognize maladaptive patterns and explore changes to improve your overall emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Faith based therapy

I believe that there is hope in any situation regardless of how challenging and discouraging your life circumstances might be. Together we can learn and find ways to navigate your challenges and help you to become the best person, couple that God has meant for you to become.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to be an effective treatment method to give you tools and strategies to move you past the issues that you are facing in your life. Through CBT methods you will be able to learn about your negative perceptions and find more positive coping strategies to use in your life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a therapeutic treatment method that helps to move beyond the situations and conflicts that you are experiencing in your life that you do not have control over. With this therapeutic approach, you learn to accept your difficult circumstances for what they are and and to not beat yourself up but to find ways to come to an acceptance and love yourself despite the pain and suffering you are experiencing. It helps you to reframe negative thinking, make conscious behavior choices that align with your values and help you create the life you want.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT- Dialectical Behavior Therapy - is a proactive and effective treatment modality that offers tools to help manage depression, grief, anxiety, OCD, etc. It provides tools to help navigate life's challenges by focusing on developing emotional regulation skills, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.

Supportive

Choosing to participate in therapy takes courage and commitment. Supportive Therapy is a nonjudgmental, gentle and caring method that involves sharing your challenges in a safe setting. Supportive therapy focuses on providing emotional support, encouragement, and validation during difficult life challenges.
