I am passionate about combining Western Medicine with holistic approaches to help people live happier, healthier, and fuller lives. I have been working in the healthcare field since 1989 and have experience treating a wide variety of patients in various settings including psychiatry, primary care and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have been a Registered Nurse since 1993, and have worked in many different areas of healthcare throughout my career. In 2000 I graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College and practiced acupuncture at the Tao of Health acupuncture clinic in southern New Hampshire. In 2009 I completed my training as a Family Nurse Practitioner and in 2018 I completed a Post-Graduate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Cincinnati.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

An initial consultation lasts between 60 to 90 minutes and includes a thorough diagnostic interview, medication management and the development of a individualized treatment plan. Lab testing and nutritional supplements may be recommended. Follow up visits generally last up to 30 minutes.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize the psychiatric interview, a structured interview process that is utilized to diagnose mental health disorders. It is also a time when I will help to develop a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient. I review past medical and mental health treatment records when available and administer written diagnostic tests when appropriate. I utilize evidence-based treatments for a variety of mental health problems and substance use disorders with an emphasis on whole-person wellness.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

When working with patients I utilize good listening & observation skills, empathy, and a willingness to spend time educating the patient & their family members (when appropriate) about their diagnosis and recommended treatment. I have worked with patients for many years and in many different settings. This experience had given me a wide breadth and depth of knowledge. I stay up-to-date on new and emerging treatments and utilize peer-reviewed treatment guidelines when formulating a plan.
