PMHNP, 6 years of experience
I am a doctorally prepared and dually certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner based in North Carolina, dedicated to supporting your healthcare journey. With six years of experience in the field, I focus on partnering with women navigating significant life transitions, such as college, postpartum challenges, and career shifts. My approach is compassionate and patient-centered, ensuring that I work closely with you to understand your health needs, address your questions, and empower you to make informed decisions that align with your personal goals and values. I'm here to guide you every step of the way.
In our first session together, we’ll begin with a brief introduction and a conversation about what brings you in. What to expect in our first session...Depending on whether you're seeking therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, we may either complete a comprehensive intake to better understand your background or dive directly into the specific challenges you're facing. This initial meeting allows me to create a personalized plan tailored to your unique goals, so we can move forward with purpose in our follow-up sessions.
Having worked with patients from diverse backgrounds and across all socioeconomic levels, I’m confident in my ability to identify the root causes of mental health concerns and develop clear, step-by-step plans to support meaningful progress. Throughout my journey as a student, adult learner, and professional, I’ve faced my own unique challenges—experiences that deepen my understanding and enhance my ability to connect with others. I bring both clinical expertise and personal insight to my work, allowing me to offer compassionate, practical support to those navigating life’s toughest transitions.
I specialize in working with young professionals and college students navigating the early stages of their careers. My clients are often high-achieving and motivated, but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious as they face major life transitions. Whether it’s the pressure of starting a new job, adjusting to life after graduation, or managing evolving relationships and responsibilities, I provide a supportive space to gain clarity, build confidence, and develop the tools needed to thrive.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner, I’ve spent the past six years witnessing what’s possible when we treat the whole person, not just a diagnosis. In my practice, I take a mind-body approach to psychiatry, and I’ve seen firsthand how this model not only leads to better clinical outcomes—it empowers patients to take ownership of their journey.Medication can be life-saving. But it’s only one part of the picture. When patients come to me struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or chronic stress, I don’t just look at their symptoms. I ask questions about sleep, nutrition, movement, relationships, spirituality, and even how they breathe. Why? Because the mind and body are not separate systems. They’re partners in wellness—or illness.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I take a modern, integrative approach to care—one that recognizes there's no one-size-fits-all path to mental wellness. While many providers shy away from alternative and complementary therapies, I welcome them. Whether it's supplements, herbal remedies, mindfulness practices, or other holistic methods, I work with you to safely and effectively incorporate these into your treatment plan.
Having spent the majority of my nurse practitioner career in public health, I have had the privilege of serving patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. This experience has deepened my understanding of culturally competent care and strengthened my ability to meet patients where they are. By incorporating a patient-centered approach in psychiatric mental health, I am able to engage individuals more effectively, promote adherence to treatment, and ultimately support improved mental health outcomes.
I have chosen Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) because it focuses on addressing present issues and encourages clients to be mindful and active in working toward realistic, attainable goals. Many clients are uncomfortable discussing past experiences, and SFBT provides a comfortable and non-intrusive outlet by emphasizing solutions rather than problems. Additionally, this therapeutic approach consists of short-term sessions with clearly measurable goals, offering clients structure, direction, and insight into their treatment plan.
