Hello, I am a Licensed professional counselor from Texas. I received my masters in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in 2018. I have done work in the individual setting, with probation clients and in the prison population. I have worked with people through anxiety, depression, existential angst, identity formation, communication issues, children, adolescents, couples, and groups. I have an undergraduate degree in Director of Christian education with an emphasis in theology from Concordia University in Austin. Through my experiences in these areas my goal is to connect with people in an authentic way. Having someone to navigate through the troubles can be a game changer and I invite you to come as you are!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will talk to you about myself in the counseling process. Then I'll ask questions about your background and what you want to work on in the counseling process. As we talk about what you want to work on we will be developing the goals for the counseling process. We will end with talking about coping strategies that we can begin to implement.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

At the end of the counseling process, I ask my clients what they like about what I have done in the counseling process and what they don't like so much. The answer that I receive the most is that I am relatable and easy to talk to. My goal in the counseling process is to be authentic and it seems like people can see that as we go through the process. I'm also flexible in my approach, so even though I use Existential techniques as a base in which I do counseling, I also use CBT, Alderian, some gestalt and narrative practices in my process as well.

The counseling process can be difficult. My work experience in helping professions, coupled with my education, and experience I have gained through different populations, have prepared me to connect in an authentic way. Finding meaning and purpose in our lives can be difficult to navigate alone. Having someone to help process the anxiety that life brings can be life changing. Finding your coping mechanisms and awareness of your strength can help you connect with your emotions. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, existential angst, identity formation, communication issues, children, adolescents, couples, groups, probation, and prison populations.
