My role is to partner with you and provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and to help you develop strategies to effectively manage and cope with life’s challenges. Remember, this is your journey and you are in control. We will work together to set goals that are important to you. Think of me as the persons walking beside you pointing out things to look at a little closer. I’m here to support you every step of the way."

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we’ll start with a brief introduction and I’ll take a background to get to know you a little better. We’ll discuss your specific challenges and start to explore what you’d like from therapy. I always save some time to allow for clients to ask me questions. Most importantly we’ll discuss how the session felt and whether it feels like we are a good fit to work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am non judgmental, compassionate, friendly, and can gently push you when needed. I am not afraid to ask the hard questions and provide feedback.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I don't believe therapy is a one size fits all experience. I I have been trained in several modalities and rely heavily on both psychodynamic (where are you from and how did you become the way you are today) and ACT (this is who you are and what life looks like today, how can you accept this and use your inner strengths to move through life) . I tend to pull out of a fully packed tool kit that allows me to meet my client and offer them what they need at the particular moment in time.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has been transformative for clients. ACT provides a powerful framework for addressing emotional distress and I encourages clients to take purposeful action toward their goals. I encourage clients to acknowledge and accept their emotions, even when they are challenging. This process helps individuals build resilience and reduce emotional suffering. Through mindfulness exercises, clients learn to observe their thoughts and emotions without getting entangled in them. By defusing from negative self-talk, clients gain freedom to choose responses that align with their values.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

The main component of a successful therapy experience using Internal Family Systems (IFS) hinges on building a strong and trusting connection between therapist and client. Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy offers a unique approach to healing, both for clients and therapists. In this modality, therapists guide individuals through a process of understanding and addressing wounded parts, emotions like anger and shame, and protective mechanisms. By working with these inner dynamics, IFS aims to restore balance and promote positive change. Therapists witness clients experiencing lasting healing from emotional wounds rooted in their past
