Hello, my name is Rhonda Cornitcher, I am a PMHNP-BC. I have been working in the mental health field for the past 20 years. I obtained my graduate degree from Grand Canyon University in 2016. I graduated from Wilkes University, with a certificate program in 12/2022 nurse practitioner. I currently work in an outpatient setting serving community members who are struggling with addiction and mental health issues.
In our first session, there will be a brief introduction. I will obtain a detailed assessment in order to diagnose and treat with the best evidenced based therapeutics. We will be working on setting goals to create a tailored treatment plan. Knowing where to start and what to expect during your first session can help you feel more comfortable and informed. Providers can ease the process by starting off the therapeutic relationship with a level of organization that takes away a lot of the guesswork for clients, freeing them to focus on progressing toward their goals.
Communication skills are my greatest strength. It is one of the reasons why I decided for mental health as my healthcare field, since I believe communication with the patients is the key here. We need to understand them before we can treat them. Patience is my strong point as well, and I see it as vital, considering that mental health problems often take years to address and heal. Self-confidence. In the high-stress health care and treatment environment, diagnosing and determining what a patient needs as quickly as possible can be a matter of life and death.
I love to work with people with mental health issues and give them the tools to be successful in creating change towards wellness. The clients that are best positioned to serve will align with what I have to share. and they will identify with my message, values, and purpose.
relaxation techniques, yoga, tai chi, and meditation may be useful for managing symptoms of stress in patients.
