LCSW
Virtual

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker(LCSW) based in Virginia. I received my Masters from Widener University in 2021. I have worked in many different settings, providing mental health treatment to individuals. Some of these settings are inpatient behavioral health units, outpatient group therapy programs, and community-based settings. I have a wide array of treatment models that I have learned over the years, utilizing these with my clients to help them explore their thoughts and feelings while providing a healing environment. I now provide individual therapy to adults, adolescents and children. I also possess a Bachelor in Recreational Therapy from Central Michigan University, earned in 2009. I worked as a Recreational Therapist for over 15 years, working with children with developmental disabilities in the community, and then transitioned to working with adults and children's in various mental health settings. I continue to encourage a healthy leisure lifestyle with my clients, discussing the importance of self-care, self-esteem and cultivating self-worth. Having fun and finding the joy in life is a part of healing from a mental health crisis.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me and you create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions . My philosophy for every session is that we are 2 people having a human experience and I just happen to be someone who can teach you skills so you find healing in your life. I hope you leave our first session feeling comfortable with our interaction.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in the mental health field for over 15 years, I have experience working with individuals of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, genders, and views. I have worked with individuals with various mental health diagnoses, physical diagnoses, and developmental diagnoses. I am able to see individuals' stressors from different perspectives without judgement. I am open to tailoring treatment to what you want to achieve and where in your life you want to make changes.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with clients in an outpatient group therapy program for the past 6 years. I have used it while providing individual sessions to help our clients explore the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Once we are able to understand this concept together, we can then move to using different types of treatment to help you find healing and peace.
