(she/her)
Hola y bienvenida/o! My name is Claudia and I am a bilingual/ bicultural Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California dedicated to providing a safe and healing (virtual) space for the BIPOC community. As a first generation Latina and first generation college graduate, I would like to be the person that I needed as a child, teenager, young adult and young professional of color. Whether you are here to heal from your past trauma or you're adjusting from a life transition, I am here to walk with you to a brighter and lighter future!
I know how nerve-wrecking "firsts" can be so let's see our first session as a 50 minute ice-breaker to our therapeutic relationship. Of course, we will focus on going over my responsibilities and expectations as a therapist but we will also talk about what brings you to therapy and the goals you would like address in therapy!
My strength and passion is to work with Latina women. Finding a Latina therapist was always a challenge for me, so I feel privileged to provide a safe space for the Latina/o community who share similar life experiences as me. I hope to be the therapist that I always wanted and needed as a child, teen and young adult. A therapist that listens well, is empathetic, challenges and wants the best for their clients.
I am here to walk this therapeutic journey with my BIPOC community. As a daughter of Mexican immigrants, I learned the struggles of navigating two cultures and two languages. I am here to provide you with a safe space to navigate your life's challenges and healing journey. Whether you are experiencing a life transition such as college, entering the work force to your first job, changing careers, having issues in relationships, need a space to process and heal from past trauma, etc., you made it to the right place!
As a Latina therapist, I am here to support our BIPOC community. Growing up as a child of immigrants navigating a bicultural and bilingual experience in the United States, I know firsthand the impact our cultural experiences can help shape our worldview. I have learned that our cultural experiences help shape our mental health and overall wellbeing so I make sure to learn about my client's family preferences, values, cultural traditions, language, socioeconomic and belief systems.
Traumatic events can may come in different seasons and intensities. I am here to provide a safe space to help you process your most difficult life experiences caused by machismo, racism/discrimination, single parent household, adapting to living with incarcerated family members, grief and loss of a loved one, etc. I'm here to be a support for you and meet you where you are in your journey towards healing.
Therapy is for you! I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can just be your full, authentic and unapologetic self. A space where you can express your thoughts, feelings and actions without feeling judged or criticized. I hope to be someone you can trust to guide and support you to accomplish what you desire, hope and dream.
Jesus and Therapy, can they co-exist? As a millennial Christian and mental health therapist, that has been my journey of discovery and acceptance. Did you know they can co-exist and thrive simultaneously. I'm here to provide a safe space for you to process your church hurt/trauma and/or work with client's who are looking for a Christian therapist that can help support in life transitions, family conflict or just work with a therapist who shares similar values.
