Hello! My name is Stacey, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Denver, though I am originally from Santa Barbara, CA. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and have been working with clients for over six years. I specialize in supporting young LGBTQ adults as they navigate the challenges of early adulthood, with a focus on treating anxiety, depression, and emotional well-being. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where individuals can explore their experiences and work toward healing and growth.
As a therapist I take a holistic, mindfulness based approach to therapy. What does this mean? Together, we will look at all aspects of your life that impact your well being from physical and spiritual to mental and emotional. Incorporating mindfulness practices such as breath work and meditation, has been proven to help relieve the intensity of anxiety, and depression.
My greatest strength as a therapist is that I feel deeply, and I am a comedic and authentically myself. I feel that I am able to be serious when I need do, but bring my silly side into our sessions to help my clients feel comfortable and safe.
I love working with young adults trying to figure out their place in life, individuating from their families and finding their own beliefs and values. My clients are on a healing, spiritual journey and are looking for someone to guide them along the way.
Sometimes talking is not enough. I like to incorporate body awareness exercises as needed with my clients to help them slow down, tune in, and feel the emotions that are stored in their body. Through these practices, we can gain more insight into our experience and develop a stronger connection with our spiritual selves, which can help to release old emotions that may be subconsciously driving our lives.
One of the most helpful tools in growth and change is knowledge. I will incorporate relevant psychology theories to my clients as needed to help you learn more about how you function.
One of my passions in life is mindfulness practice. One of the most powerful tools we all have the ability to call on in times if heightened stress, so help ease the "symptom" you are experiencing. I have extensive knowledge through my schooling as well as personal exploration through 20+ years of yoga.
