I have been working in this field for 6 years. I have worked with aIl walks of life. I believe it is important to create a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Master's degree in Clinical mental health therapy. My main goal is to focus on the goals identified and to help you create the kind of life you deserve while providing guidance and support. I like to utilize the person-centered approach for my treatment and really focus on what your needs are and how we can improve the quality of life together. The focus is on you and what you need and what steps we can take to get there together. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, which focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, encouraging, identifying and implementing coping skills individualized to you. I encourage humor and honesty to build a trusting relationship. I have worked with children, teens, young adults, and older adults. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, anger, self esteem, communication, and tailor your treatment needs to you. Please contact aburk@resolutionscm.com to discuss scheduling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Anxiety and depression, how to manage? Learn cognitive distortions and implement positive reframing for stressful situations. What are cognitive distortions? A cognitive distortion is an exaggerated or irrational thought pattern that can bring on depression and anxiety. Cognitive distortions are thoughts that cause individuals to perceive reality inaccurately. *Steps to combat cognitive distortions: Identify the Cognitive Distortion, Challenge your assumptions, Fact or opinion challenge, and Positively reframe situations. Person centered therapy is utilized during treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love alpacas and believe that animals can help us in our healing process. They are good coping skills as well as self care helpers. I enjoy a good mystery/thriller book. I have been practicing therapy for 6 years and have worked with all walks of life, from working with prison staff, medical staff, teens, young adults, and older adults.
