My name is Marisol Keegan, LCSW, and I specialize in giving strength-based interventions and solution-focused trauma psychotherapy for adults (18+). I work with diverse groups, cultural competencies, beliefs, sexual orientations, and values. We work together as a team to help manage and reduce levels of distress. As an immigrant and a Latina professional, I have encountered similar experiences and want to assist you in meeting your needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will do an introduction, share about my practice and confidentiality, provide a biopsychosocial assessment of the factors that contribute to the problems, and explore the need to develop treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with diverse populations in the last twelve years, including children, adults, families, and couples. During this time, I developed many evidence-based practices and coping skills that helped my clients reach their full potential.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is a method that I have been using for about two years. This method uses bilateral movements that assist in processing small and big traumatic experiences, giving clients a sense of relief and gratification.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT interventions are one of the methods I have applied since I started my practice as a clinician. This modality helps clients change negative thoughts, feelings, and behavior by increasing their well-being and how they see themselves and the world around them.

Motivational Interviewing

MI modality has been implemented in my practice since grad school; I have worked with individuals and families to explore their motivation to change and find their path in life.

Strength-Based

The strength-based approach has been in my practice for many years. Using this approach, clients can find their abilities, knowledge, and capacities rather than focus on their deficits or what they cannot do.

Psychodynamic

The psychodynamic approach is one of the methods since becoming a clinician; it connects the unconscious to the conscious and raises awareness to clients of their emotions and behaviors.
