I’m interested in the magic of therapy. I don’t see you as a list of symptoms, but a complex individual with a deep inner world, both unique and universal in nature. I feel a responsibility to not only be gentle, nurturing and validating, but also direct and challenging, especially as it pertains to acknowledging your own shadow. I like to think you can share anything with me imaginable, without judgement. It’s important that my own humanness and fallibility shows up in the room, so that you may feel comfortable showing and owning yours as well. When we work together we are not just trying to “solve an issue,” but we are engaged in honoring the creative depth of your existence, and learning what it is seeking. What are you seeking to understand? I'd love to journey with you. Let’s journey together.
Our first session will not just be information gathering, but an opportunity to develop a connection and see if this feels like a good fit.
Thoughtfulness, honesty, sensitivity, being a present witness, being challenging in the right moments, symbolic thinking, bringing humor.
I consider myself a generalist and love working with humans from all walks of life. I find most struggles of the psyche branch out from the same core issues, packaged as different "symptoms". I believe in the responsibility of therapy, and will refer you elsewhere if I feel your needs are outside of my scope of competence and require a specialist or better fit. Let's have an initial connection and see how it feels.
In my Masters in Clinical Psychology I specialized in "Spiritual and Depth Psychology", which focused on integrating Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic, and Mindfulness principles. I not only draw from my training, but my own psychological work on my own psyche, having worked with my own analyst for 10 years and having analyzed hundreds of my own dreams.
