LCSW, 8 years of experience
Hi, I’m Marquel T. Jones, LCSW — but you can call me Quel. Life can feel heavy sometimes, especially when you’re trying to figure things out, find your voice, or make sense of who you are and where you’re headed. Whether you’re a teen feeling misunderstood, a young adult dealing with anxiety or identity questions, or someone in your 20s or 30s struggling with life transitions, career pressure, or relationships—it’s okay not to have it all together. You don’t have to do it alone. With over 7 years of experience, I specialize in supporting youth and young adults facing anxiety, depression, low self-worth, family issues, academic or career stress, and identity exploration. I’ve also worked extensively in juvenile rehabilitation, helping justice-involved youth reclaim their narrative and grow into who they want to become. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as your full self—confused, curious, overwhelmed, or all of the above. Together, we’ll work to untangle what’s weighing you down, build your confidence, and develop tools that help you feel more grounded, empowered, and in control of your journey. Therapy isn’t about being “fixed.” It’s about finding your voice, learning how to handle the hard stuff, and creating a life that feels more aligned with who you really are. Let’s get to work—your next chapter starts here.
In our first session together, you can expect a cozy and inviting space where you're encouraged to open up and share your story. It's a chance for us to connect on a personal level as we dive into what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll be all ears, listening intently to your experiences, struggles, and aspirations. Together, we'll craft a roadmap for our journey forward, one that's uniquely tailored to fit your needs and desires. My aim is for you to leave feeling not just heard, but truly understood and hopeful about the positive changes we can make together. So come as you are, and let's embark on this journey towards healing and growth, hand in hand.
As a therapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to connect deeply with my clients and create a safe, supportive space where they feel truly seen and heard. I approach each session with empathy, warmth, and authenticity, fostering a genuine rapport that allows for honest exploration and growth. My commitment to understanding each individual's unique experiences and perspectives enables me to tailor my approach to meet their specific needs and goals. I also bring a creative and flexible mindset to therapy, always willing to adapt and try new techniques to best support my clients on their journey towards healing and self-discovery. Ultimately, I see my role as a guide and ally, walking alongside my clients as they navigate life's challenges and empowering them to tap into their own inner strengths and resilience.
I support individuals—from teens to thirty-somethings—who are navigating the messy, overwhelming, and transitional seasons of life. Whether you're in high school, college, just starting out in your career, or deep into adulting and still trying to figure things out, therapy can be a space to breathe, reflect, and realign. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and early-career professionals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, career stress, identity questions, or major life transitions. I also have a strong background in juvenile justice and rehabilitation, guiding justice-involved youth toward healing, accountability, and personal growth. At any stage, life can feel uncertain—whether you're overwhelmed by school, questioning your path, feeling stuck in your job, managing relationship dynamics, or simply trying to reconnect with yourself. My goal is to create a safe, empowering space for you to process, grow, and build the tools to feel more grounded and confident in who you are becoming. Therapy with me is real, collaborative, and focused on helping you show up fully in your life—without pretending, performing, or people-pleasing.
I have extensive experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors. In practice, I collaborate with clients to set goals, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and teach practical skills such as relaxation techniques and problem-solving. I use behavioral experiments and exposure therapy to confront fears and reduce avoidance. Regular assessment ensures interventions are tailored to each client's needs.
With a strong foundation in the mind-body approach, my experience as a therapist is deeply rooted in fostering holistic healing and wellness. By integrating techniques that acknowledge the interconnectedness of thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical sensations, I empower clients to navigate their personal journeys toward greater self-awareness and resilience. Through mindfulness practices, somatic experiencing, expressive arts therapy, and lifestyle interventions, I facilitate a process of exploration and growth that honors the body's wisdom and promotes healing on multiple levels. My therapeutic approach emphasizes the importance of cultivating present-moment awareness, fostering emotional regulation, and nurturing self-care practices that support overall well-being.
In sessions, I use motivational interviewing (MI) to deeply engage with you, understanding your desires, struggles, and goals without judgment. Through empathetic listening, thoughtful questions, and affirmations, we work together to uncover your intrinsic motivations for change. By gently exploring any uncertainties and highlighting the gaps between where you are and where you want to be, we can collaboratively develop a roadmap towards achieving your aspirations. This approach fosters a supportive environment where you feel empowered and motivated to make meaningful changes aligned with your values.

I was on the call on a page that said waiting for your therapist to join you and that did not happen. I waited for 15 minutes and the therapist never showed up. Now I am being billed said the therapist was there and waited 15 minutes for me. This is my second negative experience with your company.
