Hi! I am a licensed mental health counselor and art therapist in Massachusetts, and have been practicing here since 2013. I call myself an art therapist because I received my masters in art therapy and counseling from southwestern College in Santa Fe NM in 2010. I enjoy working with adult women and young adult women who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or life transitions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will start with brief introductions, and I will ask questions for you to share more about what you're experiencing and looking for. Through this discussion, there will be insight gained about where to start for short term goals, and we may also identify some long term goals. You can also expect to make art in our first session, as it will be a tool to help identify these goals. The art therapy directive is a wonderful access tool for you to identify where you are at this time, and where you'd like to be headed.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I worked with many women over the last 11 years, and have gained experience and knowledge in the area of helping women through transitions, and have learned how to help them explore their options, their obstacles, and identify their strengths and resources. I've also identified that using art therapy directives with women helps them connect to there self energy, that helps them feel compassion and curiosity and exploration of themselves. It also brings renewed confidence and hope for improvement.

I use art therapy directives to identify strengths, and what is working well for you already, to help identify resources within yourself and help with the process of navigating difficult situations.

As you talk about the topics that bother you, and maybe even feel shame or guilt about things that have happened, we always remember in the sessions you are a loving, lovable, human, who deserves the same kindness and warmth you most likely often give to everyone else! The compassion comes from connecting with your Self and your internal resources, and you can see how wonderful you truly are!
