Hi there, I’m Kadija—welcome! We’re so glad you’re here. At Barrat Behavioral Health and Primary Care, we’re committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care that supports your whole health—both body and mind. Whether you’re seeking mental health support, weight management services, or a blend of both, you’ve already taken an important step toward wellness, and we’re honored to walk this journey with you. Our mission is to make you feel heard, respected, and empowered from day one. You can expect a safe, supportive space where your care is tailored to your unique needs and goals. Thank you for choosing us. We look forward to helping you live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
In your first session with me, you can expect a calm, welcoming space where we focus on building a strong foundation of trust. We’ll take a deep dive into your medical and mental health history, explore what’s bringing you in, and begin identifying your goals for treatment. This initial visit is a two-way conversation—I’ll ask questions, but I also encourage you to share at your own pace. By the end of our session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of your care plan and what to expect moving forward.
My journey to becoming a mental healthcare provider began with a deep passion for understanding the human experience and a commitment to caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. As a nurse, I saw firsthand how mental health impacts every aspect of a person’s well-being, often in ways that go unseen or untreated. That insight drove me to pursue dual board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. Each experience has reinforced my belief in compassionate, holistic care and the power of connection, healing, and resilience. This work is not just my profession—it’s my calling.
I support clients facing a range of challenges, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and substance use. From our very first sessions, we take the time to explore your unique experiences and concerns, working together to create a personalized, results-driven plan that aligns with your goals. Most clients begin to experience a gradual easing of symptoms within the first month, with continued progress and meaningful improvements as we move forward.
