Hi I’m Susan, I’ve been a therapist since 2006, working in a variety of different setting with children, teens and adult clients. I currently work with adults over the age of 18. I really enjoy supporting people as they discover what they are capable of. I work with people around issues related to empowerment, self esteem, setting boundaries in relationships and finding peace of mind in this oftentimes stressful world.
In your first session with me, my hope is to help you feel safe and at ease in order for you to freely share what you feel comfortable sharing. We will come up with ideas and I will provide you with suggestions to help you feel better. My hope is that you will leave the session feeling supported, and with a sense of direction.
I’ve worked as a psychotherapist for over 20 years, and I have acquired a variety of different tools in my toolbox. I tailor the sessions to the particular needs of the person, offering support, validation, and strategies to help you feel symptom relief.
I enjoy working with young adults, and adults who are spiritually minded, motivated for positive change, and who may need support to assist them with becoming unstuck.
My graduate programs provided me with an in depth training in cognitive behavioral therapy, which I use within sessions, along with other treatment modalities, including supportive, compassion focused therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and other approaches based upon the needs of the person.
I am trained in EMDR parts one and two and use EMDR to treat clients who have experienced traumatic events in their lives.
Every individual has their unique needs. I tailor your sessions to meet what YOU need.
My goal is to provide you a safe space to share your story.
I was trained in TF-CBT, and use this treatment modality for those who need support with overcoming traumatic events in their lives, and who need a practical and thought based approach combined with relaxation skills.
