New to Grow
Hi, I'm Erin. I became a child protective services social worker in 2016, because my goal was always for children and families to find a safe space in me as a motivator for positive change. I found my passion for therapy in how I connected with those families from a humanistic approach and personal love for connection instead of just a profession.
Our first session will be an opportunity to get to know each other. I like to discuss your background and what brings you to therapy. I believe having a great therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy and my goal is always to make that our first session focus.
I have a very friendly, non-judgmental communication style. My sessions are very conversational while I actively listen and provide a safe, empathetic space for you to feel heard and understood. I understand some things take longer to discuss or even learn to put into words and will exercise patience and understanding as we see it through.
My ideal client may be navigating life transitions, struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, and are seeking a deeper sense of self-understanding and personal growth. They may feel disconnected but have a desire to reconnect with their authentic self. I work best with clients who value a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where they can be seen, heard, and supported as they progress toward becoming the best version of themselves.
I utilize CBT to assist with helping you understand how thoughts can influence behaviors. CBT helps with changing negative thought patterns that may be a barrier to progress.
I utilize DBT to assist with emotional regulation and effective communication to promote healthy conversations while setting boundaries and maintaining self respect.
I utilize psychoanalytic therapy to explore childhood events that may influence adult thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This includes childhood relationships, trauma, and upbringing.
I utilize psychodynamic therapy to explore relationship themes and patterns and how they influence self esteem, self respect, and overall mental wellness.
I utilize strength-based therapy to encourage your self determination. I believe healing and happiness is rooted in empowerment and motivation whether from self or supports.
