Hi! I'm a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida and have practiced counseling for over 20 years. I help children, teens, and young adults become the best versions of themselves. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, relationships, and life transitions. I am an advocate of empowering my clients. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for my clients to explore and grow. I focus on helping you develop assertive communication and boundaries with yourself and those around you that can help improve your quality of life. I am a mother of four grown sons and have one grandson. I have experience as a homeschool teacher and a school counselor in the public schools. I enjoy hiking in the mountains, biking off-road, and walking on the beach. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and then discuss the specific challenges you're facing. I will go through a series of intake questions to help me get to know you better. We will go over office procedures and set up our next appointment. My goal will be to create a caring and peaceful environment for you to feel comfortable and safe sharing what you want to share with me. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked as a counselor for the past 20 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you identify the root cause of your challenges and create a tailored plan that leads to progress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the last few years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to challenge your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT helps my clients to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others
