Hello, I am Francisco Adame Jr., a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a drive to support you with life’s challenges. I have been in the behavioral health field for 6 years at different capacities working alongside individuals from all walks of life and disparities. I have worked with many diverse populations to include LGBTQ+ community. In my work, I have seen the differences that require unique approaches and all the strengths my clients bring, not one size fits all.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session can be overwhelming for anyone even if you have been in therapy before. During this visit we will focus on getting to know you, what brings you and contributing factors to your experience. I will ask about social, medical and mental health history, interests, your future and inform you of the structure of our sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider I like to listen and find creative ways to help. It is not always about labeling or finding a solution but sometimes simply listening. I use the strengths of my clients and build on them as every experience is unique and you are the expert in it.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is my primary modality to modify thoughts and behaviors that may contribute to issues. This is done by learning to reframe our thoughts and in turn influence emotions and behaviors. There are many tools used in CBT that can be tailored to the individuals specific experience.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an effective modality to guide individuals to guide the life the choose to live while incorporating values and self awareness. This is done by acknowledging challenges and taking actions towards the life we want. There are many creative tools that can be used and tailored to individuals unique experience.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy is effective for traumatic experiences through identifying beliefs about event and changing the beliefs about it. This does not require to retell the story but rather focus on our beliefs about what happened. CPT requires homework and structure with limited room for supportive therapy sessions.

Grief Therapy

Grief Therapy is tailored to unique experiences of the individual. It includes elements of Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solution Focused. Its emphasis is in processing the experience.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Therapy is finding solutions and options to effectively problem solve with challenges. It can be done within a short period of time as it only focused on the present.
