Hello I am a LCSW with 20 years of experience. I am compassionate and my goal is to help you feel empowered to make positive changes in your life and relationships. I have experience in helping my clients adjust to life's changes and assist my clients with better coping skills to deal with different challenges. I enjoy helping my clients see their strengths and weaknesses to help them lead a more productive and healthier lifestyle. I am empathic and am an active listener. I provide a safe environment for my clients. I believe every person has strengths and inner resources, I help my clients recognize those strengths to create a meaningful and lasting change in their life.
In our first session together I want to get to know my clients and what they are struggling with. We will go through your intake form, this will help us work together to form goals and focus on a treatment plan. This first session we explore what brings you to counseling in a safe environment to begin the healing journey. My goal is to build practical tools for managing stress, improving mood and creating lasting change.
Having worked with many individuals with different needs in the last 20 years I am an active listener eager to help my clients work though their struggles and challenges in life. I create a safe space where my clients can explore their feelings in a non-judgement environment. I use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach (CBT) which focuses on understanding your thoughts, feelings and behaviors influencing one another. Together we work on identifying unhealthy patterns and developing healthier ways of thinking and coping.
I enjoy working with adults in different stages of their lives who might need support and who are willing to do what is necessary to improve their lives and may benefit from some direction and guidance. When the client is willing, ready and open in the therapeutic process that is when healing begins to take place. I work best with clients who want to understand how their thoughts , emotions and behaviors are connected. Understanding this connection leads to a healthier way of coping which leads to a more balanced empowered life.
I have helped my clients change their thought patterns and behaviors so that they can build better coping skills leading to significant improvements in functioning and quality of life. My clients have seen an improvement in their relationships and thinking patterns.
I enjoy focusing on my client's strengths, building on their best qualities and improving their mindset. Assisting my clients in their strengths can create an environment that supports a positive change.
