I am a licensed Marriage and Family therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical counselor. I have worked treating trauma, depression, anxiety, PTS, mood disorders, adjustment disorders and other mental illnesses. I have facilitated child abuse intervention groups for child abuse perpetrators. I also enjoy facilitating coparenting groups for adults who are going through divorce or separation to shield children from conflict.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session you can expect to be greeted with a non-judgemental stance. I will conduct an initial assessment that will help me create a treatment plan that meets your goals in therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a provider is that I am here to help you reach your goals and healing journey. I am a good listener. I strive to maintain a professional environment for you to feel comfortable and safe.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I am trained on TF-CBT, an empirical base therapeutic approach to treat trauma in children. I am training in EMDR, this means I provide EMDR treatment under a certified EMDR therapist.
EMDR
I strive to provide trauma informed care in my therapeutic practice and approach.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT to facilitate an understanding between the connection of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. This helps me in therapy to facilitate healing and processing past and present symptomology.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I drive to maintain a person-centered approach on goal setting and treatment outcomes.
Attachment-based
I like to look at childhood attachment and current attachment when exploring interpersonal relationships dynamics.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize DBT to reinforce and teach skills. Such as emotion regulation, distress tolerance and mindfulness.
