About me

Hi! I'm Quanya Linen, and I'm a licensed professional counselor practicing since 2012. I have a master's degree in counseling and help adults who are considered to be "strong on the outside" but struggling on the inside. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy and tend to incorporate a mind and body strategies that promote overall wellness while using evidence-based treatment strategies.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to slow down and focus completely on you. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’ve tried before, and what you hope will be different. I’ll ask questions to get to know your story, but I’ll also listen closely so you feel truly heard. Together, we’ll start mapping out a plan that feels safe, manageable, and focused on your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often tell me they feel comfortable opening up with me because I bring empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental space. I balance compassion with practical strategies, giving you tools you can apply right away. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in creating the changes you want most in your life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You might be the “strong friend” who always seems to have it all together—but inside, you feel drained, anxious, or stuck. Maybe you say “I’m fine” when asked how you’re doing, even though you’re not. Sleepless nights, racing thoughts, self-doubt, or painful memories may be wearing you down. In therapy, I’ll help you move from overwhelm and insecurity to a place of peace, confidence, and self-trust—so you can show up fully in your relationships, career, and everyday life.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I understand how past experiences can impact the way you think, feel, and respond today. In our work together, I create a safe and supportive space where you don’t have to feel judged or misunderstood. My focus is on helping you feel seen and heard while building trust at your pace. From there, we work on healing and finding ways to move forward with more confidence and peace.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

If you’ve ever felt like your emotions are “too much,” DBT can be really helpful. I teach skills that make it easier to manage stress, calm intense feelings, and communicate more effectively. These tools can help you find balance both in the moment and long-term. Together, we’ll practice strategies that give you more control and help you feel grounded.

Mind-body approach

I believe your mind and body are deeply connected, and healing often happens when we bring both into the process. In sessions, I may guide you through techniques like grounding, breathing, or body awareness to help calm your nervous system. These practices are especially helpful if stress or trauma shows up in your body, like tension, stomach issues, or fatigue. The goal is to help you feel more balanced, both physically and emotionally.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful method I use to help clients heal from trauma and painful memories. It works by gently reprocessing the way these experiences are stored in your brain, so they don’t feel as overwhelming. Many people find that EMDR helps reduce triggers and opens the door to new, healthier perspectives. I guide you through this process at your pace, making sure you feel safe and supported every step of the way.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Sometimes the thoughts we repeat to ourselves can keep us feeling stuck. With CBT, I help you notice those unhelpful patterns and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. This approach is very practical—you’ll leave sessions with tools you can use right away. I often use CBT to support clients struggling with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.
