Hi, I’m Laura. I help clients decrease anxiety & doubt, reclaim their lost parts, & move towards a truly authentic life. I’m a therapist & HSP who is equal parts calm, playful, & empowering. I will journey with you through the unknown parts of your psyche so you can retrieve your abandoned strengths & step forward with confidence. If you'd like to see if we're a good fit, schedule a consult.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is an intake, where I gather your information in broad strokes. We will review privacy and policy documents. By the end of the session, we will decide on 1 to 3 goals. The second session continues to gather information while building trust and addressing the most pressing issues.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am as comfortable working on solutions & coping skills as I am voyaging deep into the unconscious. It all depends on your preferences & needs. I help breakdown confusion and overwhelm, making sense where you see none. I see and hold a vision of your authentic self, until you are able to do so for yourself.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness helps you learn to stay in the present moment, eventually without judgement. This can help you become aware of worries, boundary crossings, and what you really need in any given moment. Mindfulness increases awareness, which is the first step towards change. Mindfulness may include breathing, walking, sensory awareness, or body awareness.

Somatic

The body is a rich source of information, yet most people either don't know how to listen or actively ignore it. I use somatic (body based) awareness and basic movement to increase your ability to access your body's wisdom. This can be especially helpful with anxiety, as most anxiety starts in the brain. Other names for this style include mind-body techniques and dance/movement therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT brings attention to your thoughts and beliefs, and how these impact your actions. I use CBT to identify unhelpful thoughts, challenge or reframe them, and create more helpful thoughts in their place.

Strength-Based

Every one of us has a set of unique strengths with which we were born. The problem is, most people don't know what they are or don't consider them strengths, as they come so easily to us. My goal is to help you be more YOU!
