Everyone has periods in their life when they need professional help and I view therapy as an aspect of maintaining good health. Through my personal experience and in my practice, I focus on integration, skills training, and a strengths-based approach toward healthy living. When clients enter therapy, many are ambivalent about their goals, feel uninspired, unfulfilled or are facing a life crisis. I provide therapeutic support and creative processes to promote overall health and wellbeing, helping clients resolve their concerns and learn meaningful, easy to implement skills toward creating lasting happiness in their lives. This is an invitation for support as you deeply commit to yourself toward living your dreams. I offer challenging exercises, motivation and support as you discover a more fulfilling, engaged, joyful purpose in life. I am licensed in Illinois with 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & career difficulties. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage and you should feel proud for getting started!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

A first session in therapy can be overwhelming for some people. In an effort to ease into therapy, I do a formal intake in first session. This covers the biopsychosocial history of the client. Since the session is led by the clinician, it tends to take the pressure off the client to fill in all the missing pieces in first session. From there, we talk about the reasons for seeking therapy at this time and together we can create our first therapeutic goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is pretty laid back. I have been described as supportive, caring and compassionate, with a pretty good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you to maximize them to overcome your obstacles. I am here to help you sort through the things that are difficult right now, and offer you a safe place to be open and honest without fear of judgment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Focusing on integration and skills training, I provide therapeutic support and creative processes to promote overall health and wellbeing, helping clients resolve their concerns and learn meaningful skills toward creating happiness in their lives. I offer challenging exercises, motivation and support as you discover a more fulfilling, engaged, joyful purpose.. It’s helped clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Compassion Focused

Compassion Focused therapy addresses the inner critic, which we all experience, but some people hear this voice louder than others. We address shame and trauma and beging to heal and reach acceptance. This form of therapy helps those who experience a lot of shame or have periods of trauma in their lives.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy is a brief, process-oriented form of counseling. The client-therapist relationship is based on developing or rebuilding trust and centers on identifying and expressing emotions.
