Many of my clients are starting therapy for the first time and aren’t quite sure what to expect. You may know that something in your life isn’t working the way you want it to, but you’re not sure where to begin or even how to put what you’re feeling into words. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, self-esteem, family challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck, you don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We can start wherever you are and work together to better understand what you’re experiencing, identify what you want to change, and help you move toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with clients in a genuine, compassionate, and nonjudgmental way. I bring warmth, humor, curiosity, and authenticity into the therapy room, creating a space where clients—especially teens and young adults—can feel comfortable being themselves. My approach is supportive but also practical and collaborative. I don’t believe therapy should feel one-size-fits-all, so I tailor our work to your individual needs, personality, and goals. Along with providing a safe space to talk, I incorporate practical CBT and DBT strategies that you can use in everyday life. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling understood, supported, and increasingly confident in your ability to navigate challenges on your own.
You may be at a point in your life where you’re ready for something to feel different. Maybe anxiety, self-doubt, relationship struggles, or difficult emotions have become harder to manage, or you simply feel like you’ve lost touch with yourself along the way. You may want healthier relationships, greater confidence, and a better understanding of yourself, but aren’t quite sure how to get there. Therapy can be a space to explore what’s holding you back, reconnect with your strengths, and begin creating the changes you want for yourself. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to understand themselves on a deeper level and create a life that feels healthier and more fulfilling. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, family stress, self-esteem concerns, or a significant transition, therapy can provide a space to slow down, understand your patterns, and begin making intentional changes. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy should provide both emotional support and practical tools you can use outside of the therapy room. Together, we'll work toward helping you trust yourself, communicate your needs, establish healthier boundaries, manage difficult emotions, and feel more confident moving forward.
I use a lot of DBT in my sessions and my goal is to support my clients by teaching them how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress and to regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others
I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through CBT, we work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding to difficult situations

A genuine person, and a consistent reminder of my strengths and ability to change, grow, and explore. Sharzad has gently teased out former insecurities and gently reinforced the difficulties I've faced without judgement. They are also curious and unabashed to ask questions when out of their own knowledge pool ~ Greatly curious and earnest. I'd highly recommend Sharzad as a therapist
