Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, confused, or simply “stuck?” Are you having difficulty keeping up with life? Do you think things could be better? Whether you are dealing with stress, relationship issues, or anxiety and depression, I am here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but you have taken the first step towards a having more fulfilling and happy life. I am here to provide you with a safe space to heal and grow. I am a licensed psychologist with over 16 years of professional experience. I specialize in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, substance abuse/dependence, and relationship/interpersonal issues. My approach is integrative, meaning, I use different types of therapeutic approaches based on the needs of the client. I believe in a collaborative approach to help the client identify their primary needs and tailor therapeutic interventions to meet those needs.
Our first session will be a space for you to begin sharing what brings you to therapy. Starting therapy can often feel overwhelming, so my focus will be to help you feel comfortable, supported, and at ease as you take this first step. We will also review important information, such as confidentiality and its limits (including my responsibilities as a mandated reporter), along with scheduling and how the therapy process works. I will also ask a few questions about your background and experiences so I can better understand your story in context, but we will move at a pace that feels right for you. You will also have the space to get to know me, ask questions, and share what you are hoping to achieve in therapy. By the end of the session, my hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and with a better understanding of what support could look like moving forward.
I use an integrative approach based on the needs of the client. My most common methods are cognitive behavioral interventions with a client-centered approach, emotionally focused, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy.
My biggest strengths as a therapist are my ability to listen, understand, and provide effective solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs. As an Asian American therapist, I am sensitive to the complex dynamic of individuals with multicultural identities, those who may be dealing with cross-cultural and acculturation issues, and immigrants who may often feel misunderstood. Through my experiences growing up in another country and immigrating to the United States, I believe that I am able to understand the unique challenges that my clients face and provide effective solutions tailored to their specific needs. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where my clients can thrive.
