My belief is that counseling is a journey we travel together. My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, trusting environment in which clients are respected and valued as significant contributors to their process of healing and growth. I strongly believe that you should feel comfortable with the therapist you choose, and hopeful about your contribution to the process. My approach is focused on your possibilities; possibilities for healing, growth, change, learning, insight, and understanding. Throughout this therapeutic relationship, we will work on building upon trust, integrity, and acceptance as we navigate through this process together. I want you to leave feeling equipped and empowered to manage your life once again.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. this will help me to gain some clarity on your goals to create a plan that works best for you.
Theoretical approaches that I adhere to are based on a Cognitive Behavioral Approach – a short-term, goal-oriented, treatment that teaches individuals how to identify and change destructive or disturbing patterns of thinking. This approach helps clients understand the effect of negative behaviors and their way of thinking. Those situations that are affecting you emotionally, are also affecting the connection between your mind, body, and spirit. We will identify what supports you and what challenges you over multiple areas of your life. As a counselor, it is my goal to encourage consistency, balance, support, and stability within the clients’ psyche. Other theoretical approaches include Solution-Focused Brief Therapy – which is focused on solutions as opposed to the problems.

My clients are eager to improve but don't have the tools to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their goals and path.
